These creative new names were suggested by several Brevard County Public Schools after a county-wide contest

Editor’s Note: We have a winner! Pinewood Elementary’s suggestion of Wildlife Way will be the new symbolic name for our entry road. Thank you to Pinewood Elementary!

Do you think our Zoo should sit along Animal Adventure Avenue? Discovery Drive? How about Wildlife Way?
One of these street names, which were suggested by students from three Brevard Public Schools, will become the new symbolic name for our entry road.

The street name contest invited Brevard Public Schools to nominate names for the road that leads visitors from Wickham Road into the Zoo. This name change was inspired by a suggestion from County Commissioner Curt Smith. Brevard Zoo’s education department narrowed down the names suggested by 24 schools to these final three.

“Brevard Zoo has seen such support from the community from its start,” said Executive Director Keith Winsten. “It felt right to bring in our community – especially our younger members – to come up with our new street name.”

The fun options were submitted by: Westside Elementary with Animal Adventure Avenue, Discovery Elementary with Discovery Drive and Pinewood Elementary with Wildlife Way.
