Brevard Zoo is nationally recognized for its education programs that provide a variety of opportunities to spark a child’s interest in conservation, science and the outdoors. These exciting programs are one-of-a-kind adventures that will take your child’s love of learning to new heights.

  • Family Nature Camp

    Two Day Camp 8 AM - Noon

    Family fun zoo style! This nature camp is a hands-on and educational experience for the family to participate in together.

  • Animal Ickyology

    Entering 1st to 6th / 4-Day Camp / 8 AM – 4 PM

    Get ready to have an ewwww-some experience! Discover the yucky side of animal science during the quest into the weird to the queasy! Are human habits as gross, strange or crazy as an animal’s?

  • Curious Creatures and Fearsome Features

    Entering 1st To 6th Grade / 5-Day Camp / AM & PM sessions

    Decide for yourself as you explore the zoo observing animals from head to toe. We will discover the purpose of these creatures’ unique features.

  • Artful Adventures

    Entering 1st to 6th / 5-DAY CAMP 8 AM -4 PM

    We will capture the creative critter in each camper! Local artists will inspire campers as they learn about animals in an exciting way through imaginative art, music and dance! Families are invited to a magnificent Friday performance!

  • Sensational Species

    Entering Kindergarten / 4 Day Camp / 8 AM - Noon

    Campers will use their five senses as we move through the Zoo, and get ready to hear an earful about how animals hear, see, smell, taste and feel.

  • Colorful Creature

    Entering Kindergarten / 4 Day Camp / 8 AM to Noon

    Come with us as we color the Zoo and meet blue birds, red snakes, green frogs and much more along the way!

  • Habitat Safari

    Entering Kindergarten / 4 Day Camp / 8 AM - Noon

    It’s a wild and wonderful world we live in! Explore with us many habitats from around the world on our safari adventure.

  • Critter Coats and Motion

    Entering 1st & 2nd Grade / 5-Day Camps 8 AM - Noon

    Why do chinchillas have such thick fur? How does a snake move without legs? Explore the exciting ways reptiles, mammals and birds move and feel!

  • Undercover Animal Spy

    Entering 1st & 2nd Grade / 5-Day Camp / 8 AM - Noon

    Become an undercover animal spy and discover the way animals look, move and behave while solving daily mysteries around the zoo.

  • Outlandish Animal Adventures

    Entering 3rd & 4th Grade / 5-Day Camp / 8 AM – 4 PM

    Out smart, out play, out last! Can you stand on one leg as long as a flamingo can? Test your skills in these challenges as you learn about the abilities of our animals.

  • Nature's Laboratory

    Entering 5th & 6th Grade / 5-Day Camp / 8 AM – 4 PM

    How do we know an environment is polluted? What controls how much rain a habitat receives? Answer these questions and more as we explore the science of chemistry and biology to understand how each field helps us learn more about our natural world in its own unique way.

  • Animal Experts

    Entering 3rd & 4th / 5-Day Camp / 8 AM – 4 PM

    Why has the giraffe gained weight? What did the kookaburra have for dinner? Become an investigator and discern how animal experts answer important questions like these. Meet creatures, talk to keepers, take measurements, examine bones and solve a mystery.

  • Animal Engineering

    Entering 5th & 6th / 5-Day Camp / 8 AM – 4 PM

    How do scientists in physics and engineering relate their work to the natural world? Explore biomimicry, exhibit design and animal wellness through the eyes of a modern zoo.

  • Brevard Zoo Summer Camp - Earth Explorers How do professionals care for wildlife? Travel with us as we network with different animal-based facilities learning about varying methods of animal care and conservation.

These camps are designed to immerse teens into the natural wonders of Florida, we connect campers with nature by providing outdoor exploration and loads of fun! Choose between these fantastic adventures: Extreme Nature Adventures and Living with Nature OR attend both!

This intense experience is limited to 12 explorers and includes special offsite field trips

Join us at 9:30 am for a meet and greet with our camp instructor and a first look at our Exceptional Nature Camp Space and Camp Classroom.  Registration required to attend, please email lmathisen@brevardzoo.org.

Classes will be determined based on registration and age of children. If registering with siblings or friends and you wish to request to be placed in the same class, please email edregistrar@brevardzoo.org. Class assignments are not guaranteed, but every effort will be made to accommodate requests.

camp-scholarships

Brevard Zoo offers a limited number of Camp scholarships, ranging from partial to full scholarships which covers the cost of one week of participation in one of our camps. Scholarships are for children that are interested in learning about our natural world, animals and conservation, but could not otherwise attend due to financial limitations.  Children must receive a free or reduced priced meal plan at their school. Scholarships do not include transportation.
