We are ½ mile east of I-95 off exit 191 in Melbourne, only 20 miles south of Port Canaveral and Cocoa Beach, and 60 miles east of Orlando. Come Visit Us!

Our potential to change the world is profound!

… and our responsibility to do so is essential. By providing the tools and hands-on learning for our youth, each endeavor establishes a connection to nature. When we engage the mind, touch the heart, and are moved to action, we set a course toward sustainability and conservation leadership. Brevard Zoo’s focus on science education and ecological literacy is core to our goal of creating the next generation of conscious stewards. The Zoo fosters a lifelong love of science through experiential learning opportunities like camps, field trips, youth programming, enlightening teacher workshops and engaging outreach programs in classrooms both on and off-site.

VOLUNTEER

As a community Zoo we encourage and appreciate public involvement, and as a non-profit organization, we are dependent upon, and very grateful to our volunteers who help in all aspects of operations. We offer a variety of ways in which interested participants can play a vital role in supporting our mission. Brevard Zoo volunteers are an active and dedicated group of individuals from all walks of life, united by their advocacy for the zoo and their passion for animals and conservation. In return, those who donate their time giving back to their community receive a sense of satisfaction and pride.

ANIMAL CARE

At Brevard Zoo, we are deeply committed to the care of our animals. Our Zookeepers take great pride in their daily work to address the physiological, biological, psychological, and social needs that the animals in their charge require. Coupled with our dedicated veterinary staff that focus both on the animals’ nutritional needs, and on preventative medical care for the early detection of illness, the Zoo ensures that more than 800 animals in our care receive the most thorough and top notch attention possible.
