Happy World Snake Day! Our Zoo is home to nine species of snakes, each of which serve as ambassadors for their counterparts in their native ranges. 

We recently welcomed six tiger ratsnake snakelets to first-time parents, Tony and Wanda! 

Talk about striking! Our newest venom house resident is boa-sting some serious copper charm. Nicknamed Penny, this 13–year-old annulated tree boa has been settling in well in her new home.  

Today, we’re shedding some light on one of the coolest – but often overlooked – cold-blooded Zoo residents: Gerald our 7-year-old Amazon puffing snake.
