Animal Encounters & Tours

Please Note: Zoo admission is required to participate in our encounters and tours. Zoo admission is not included in the prices below. Purchase tickets online or in person at the Zoo’s main gate. Guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a paying adult. Please be advised that if your party size is less than the number of guests allowed per tour, others may join the experience with the exception of the Private Guided Tour.

Rhino Encounter

Meet our magnificent, massive rhinos up close! Brush their backs while learning more about these unique animals in this keeper-led experience.

Offered daily at 12 PM (weather permitting). Lasts 20 minutes. Ages 7+. Max six guests per tour. Tickets must be purchased before 11 AM.

Okapi Encounter

Get ready for an unforgettable encounter with one of the animal kingdom’s most elusive creatures—the okapi! Join our animal care team for a rare, up-close experience where you’ll interact with this gentle giant and get chances to feed, touch and pose for photos – contingent on our okapi’s choice to participate.

Offered daily at 12:30 PM (weather permitting). Lasts 15-20 minutes. Ages 7+. Max 4 guests per tour.

Radiated Tortoise Encounter

Enter our radiated tortoise habitat to meet and feed these unique animals while you learn about the efforts Brevard Zoo is taking to safeguard this endangered species.

Offered May – October (weather permitting), Tuesdays and Sundays at 1 PM. Lasts 20 minutes. Ages 7+. Max six guests per tour.

Galapagos Tortoise Encounter

These iconic animals don’t start off as giants! Get the unique chance to meet our trio of juvenile Galapagos tortoises while learning more about this fascinating species and just how big they may become.

Offered May – October (weather permitting), Tuesdays and Sundays at 1:30 PM. Lasts 20 minutes. Ages 7+. Max six guests per tour.

Closer Look: Rainforest Revealed

On this guided tour, you’ll explore our Rainforest Revealed loop, learn more about some of its animal residents and enjoy a special animal encounter.

Offered Mondays, Fridays and Sundays at 10 AM (weather permitting). Lasts 50 minutes. Ages 7+. Max eight guests per tour. Tickets must be purchased before 9:30 AM the day of the experience.

Private Guided Tour

On this exclusive, unforgettable excursion, your private group will be accompanied by a charismatic member of our Conservation Learning team who has the inside scoop on the Zoo! Tailor your adventure by picking which areas of the Zoo you’d like to explore together.

Offered daily (weather permitting). Lasts 60 minutes. Minimum 2 and max 12 guests per tour. Tickets must be purchased online at least seven days in advance.
