Veterinarian Kyle Donnelly poses next to a kangaroo

Our mob of kangaroos is already warming up to Dr. Kyle!

There’s a new veterinarian in town! Dr. Kyle Donnelly joins the Zoo team with a passion for wildlife conservation and love for all things animal.

Originally from Sarasota, Kyle earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and Masters of Public Health from the University of Florida. She also completed a residency at White Oak Conservation Center through a joint program with the university!

Between the late 2019 opening of Rainforest Revealed and 2021 debut of lions, it’s hard to deny that our Zoo is expanding—and quickly, we might add! With a growing facility comes an increased animal collection, which created a need for a second full-time veterinarian. Kyle joins director of veterinary programs Dr. Trevor Zachariah, who has been at the Zoo since 2010.

Adding Kyle to the team not only allows our veterinary staff to expand their capabilities, but also provides increased mentorship for our veterinary internship program.

Our work with local conservation is what drove Kyle to the Zoo, as she feels that she can not only make a difference in the lives of our residents, but also wild animals in Brevard County and beyond! She specifically enjoys working with birds, reptiles and rhinoceroses.
