Need a place to cool off on a hot Florida day? Looking for a safe place for your little ones to learn hands-on? When you walk into the Zoo, take a right into Paws On and immerse your family in a world of fun!
Peer through massive windows into this 20,000-gallon tank housing stingrays, sheepshead, tarpon, mullet and other local fish species.
INDIAN RIVER PLAY LAGOON
Don’t forget your bathing suit! Children of all ages are invited to cool off in up to 18 inches of water in the Indian River Play Lagoon. This play space includes a “dump tank” and mangrove forest. There is also a water area created especially for younger guests, which features shallower water and a bubbling manatee sculpture. Guests will be asked to leave the water starting at 4:45 p.m. since the Zoo closes at 5 p.m.
SEASIDE COVE & SEA TURTLE BEACH
Play on a kid-sized shrimping boat, slide into a whale’s stomach and learn all about the sea turtles that we share our water with at this fun play space!
Get up close and personal with goats, alpacas, chickens and a giant tortoise.
GOPHER TORTOISE INN
Make yourself at home in our larger-than-life playground! Navigate an underground burrow, enjoy a bird’s eye view of the Zoo from a scrub-jay nest and create an “animal home” of your own with palmetto fronds, bamboo stalks, ropes and a tarp.
