Step into the rainforest to discover spider monkeys, giant otters, sloths, massive Amazonian fish, venomous snakes and other fascinating Latin American species.
HERPETARIUM
Marvel at a floor-to-ceiling glass enclosure full of beautiful snakes and frogs. Look up to view a venomous eyelash viper curled around a branch or down to see tiny poison dart frogs crawling up the glass.
“RIVER MONSTERS” AQUARIUM
Explore the depths of the Amazon River Basin. Come nose-to-fin with red-bellied pacus, arapaimas and tiger shovelnose catfish.
FLOODED FOREST
Wander by this 4,000-square-foot, 20-foot-tall aviary and see what creatures you can spot! From capybaras to scarlet ibis to Orinoco geese, there’s something to be discovered in every corner of this spacious habitat!
TREETOP OBSERVATION STATION
Come eye-to-eye with tree-dwelling animals at the Treetop Observation Station! This elevated walkway is fitted with a lift to ensure that guests of all ages and abilities can see the rainforest from above. Please call prior to your visit to confirm the lift is operational.
WHAT’S COMING?
There’s still more to come for Rainforest Revealed! Soon, you’ll be able to see free-flying macaws soar through the 20-foot-tall aviary, fulvous whistling ducks roam about and a few other species of Amazonian fish swimming through the water.
Also coming soon is a network of overhead tunnels called “sky trails” throughout Rainforest Revealed that allow the monkeys to roam freely between habitats! And when the Cognition Center is complete, you’ll be able to take a front seat as Dr. Darby Proctor of Florida Institute of Technology and her students demonstrate the voluntary behavioral research that they conduct with spider monkeys at the Zoo.
Keep your eyes peeled for these exciting new faces and changes!
