As a community Zoo, we encourage public involvement in all aspects of our operations. We are dependent upon and very grateful to our volunteers, who assist with predominately guest-facing roles, including everything from special events to educational programs. We generally onboard new volunteers 2-3 times each year.

The next Volunteer Applicant Orientation will be on Saturday, May 2, from 9 AM – 12 PM. The Orientation is followed by a scheduled interview and then mandatory class on Saturday, May 16, from 9 AM – 3 PM for all volunteers accepted into the program.

Participants must be 14 years of age or older. Most groups should not exceed 15 participants. Large groups can be accommodated at offsite locations with enough notice.
