Washed Ashore | November 8
Meet Chompers, a 10-foot shark, and Octavia, a 9-foot octopus, and then watch as giant anemone reef comes to life. We aren’t expanding our aquarium or getting new marine animals. These are just three of the 10 larger-than-life, handcrafted art sculptures coming to Brevard Zoo for a limited time, November 8, 2015-May 3, 2016. Washed Ashore Project features astonishing art installations made exclusively from marine debris that will open your eyes and leave you with a lasting impression. Holiday Happenings | All December long
Strap on your jingle bells and head to the Zoo for a flurry of festive fun! During the first few days of winter break (December 19-22), you’ll have the chance to enjoy a blizzard of activities including animal encounters, games, crafts and live music! Best of all, our keepers will be presenting our animals with holiday “gifts” and other seasonal enrichment items. Santa and Mrs. Claus will make an appearance from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday and 12:30-2:30 p.m. on Sunday and Monday. Included with Zoo admission.
Noon Year’s Eve | December 31 | 11 am - 1 pm
Ring in the New Year during our third annual Noon Year’s Eve Celebration. From 11 am – 1 pm, kids can make crafts and play games in Paws On and in the Wildlife Detective Training Academy. Kids who might not be able to stay awake until midnight can join us at noon by the Paws On stage for a juice toast to ring in 2016 early. All activities are free with Zoo admission.
Science Cafés | Second Wednesday of each month | 6 pm
Science Café is a collaboration between the Zoo and the Florida Institute at Technology. It is place where anyone interested in science or technology can discuss topical issues with the help of an expert in the field. Best of all, it is not a lecture! Each session is free and open to the public. more…
