Zoo to You

Programs use curricula aligned with Florida Standards for grades K–12, offering a 30- to 45-minute experience.

• $125 for the first program
• $40 for each additional program on the same day

To request a reservation for a Zoo to You Program please contact the Education Registrar at edregistrar@brevardzoo.org or 321.254.9453 x219. All requests must be made more than 3 weeks before the date(s) requested. Reservations require a minimum of 15 people.

PreK-K

Wiggly Wonders (30 minutes)

Can you swim like a fish or slither like a snake? Students explore animal movements as they hop, crawl and wiggle their way through this fun, hands-on animal experience.

Grades 1-2

Habitats for Survival (45 minutes)

Home sweet home! All animals- including humans – need a safe place to live. Through exploration and observation, students will discover the things that make each habitat the perfect home for its residents.

Amazing Adaptations (45 minutes)

Is it survival of the fittest or just a quirk of nature? Students will discover the adaptations needed to escape hungry predators, become ultimate hunters, or survive and thrive in the harshest climates.

7-12

Cells: Nature’s Building Blocks (45 minutes)

Delve into the fundamental units of life as we explore the structure, function, and significance of cells in living organisms. This lab focuses on the similarities and differences between plant and animal cells. In addition to examining prepared microscope slides, students will have an opportunity to create their slides from a variety of specimens.

The Web of Life: Energy Transfer Among Organisms (45 minutes)

Use a food web to identify and distinguish producers, consumers, and decomposers. Explain the pathway of energy transfer through trophic levels and the reduction of available energy at successive trophic levels.
