Hands gripping tree hugger

Brevard Zoo Tree Hugger

Climb up more than 20 feet on an authentic Florida pine tree and gently rappel back to the ground. Open daily from 11 am to 1 pm.

All guests under the age of 18 must have this waiver signed by parent or natural guardian before experiencing Tree Hugger. As required by Florida Statute 744.301, only a natural guardian (natural or adoptive parent) may sign this waiver. No other signature is permitted under this statute.

Fifty-pound weight minimum, 250-pound maximum; closed-toe, closed-heel shoes are required; long hair must be pulled back; a helmet must be worn at all times; individuals under the influence of alcohol, medication or other substances that may affect performance may not participate; not recommended for pregnant women.

Tree Hugger is not open in the rain. In addition, thunderstorms with lightning occur regularly in Florida, and for the safety of our guests, we stop certain activities when thunder is heard; our rule of thumb is to wait 30 minutes after the last clap of thunder before resuming Tree Hugger. Please be advised that strong, windy days in Florida can sometimes impact certain activities at the Zoo; either wind gusts or steady winds of at least 15–20 miles per hour will close Tree Hugger.
