General Information

  • What are the operating hours?
  • The Zoo is open daily from 9:30 am to 5 pm. Last admission at 3:30 pm. Members can get into the Zoo early at 9 am. See current guidelines.

    Some sections of the Zoo open late. Paws On and Lands of Change: Australia and Beyond open at 10 am.

    Sometimes the Zoo closes early for special events. We are closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

    On rare occasions, the Zoo will close to accommodate large groups. Sign up for our email newsletter or “like” us on Facebook for advance notifications about these closures.

  • Visit our events calendar for upcoming events. We add events throughout the year, so be sure to check back often.

  • What kinds of food does the Zoo serve?
  • We offer several dining options for you and your family to enjoy during your visit to the Zoo. At Nourish 321, indulge in mouth-watering burgers, hearty sandwiches and wholesome salads; these made-to-order items include vegan and vegetarian options, so you’re sure to find something to please your palate. Adjacent to Nourish 321 are kiosks featuring frozen drinks, Dippin’ Dots ice cream, snacks and more.

    Enjoy fresh pizza and sandwiches at Slice, a walk-up venue overlooking the Indian River Play Lagoon in Paws On. When you’re done splashing around, stop by Cones for soft-serve ice cream, Dole Whip and frozen alcoholic beverages.

    Not all venues are open every day. Call ahead or visit the administrative office for more information.

    Outside food is not permitted in the Zoo, but you may use the picnic tables outside the main entrance.

Park Information

  • Is smoking or vaping permitted in the Zoo?
  • The Zoo is a smoke-free facility. Smoking and vaping are only permitted in the parking lot.

  • Is the Zoo handicap accessible?
  • The Zoo is handicap accessible. Some areas include gentle ramps or tightly compacted substrate. There is an elevated walkway in Rainforest Revealed that is accessible by stairs or electronic lift; we recommend calling prior to your visit to ensure the lift is operational.

  • Do you rent wheelchairs, strollers or ECVs?
  • Strollers, wheelchairs and ECVs are rented on a first-come, first-serve basis and are available at the main entrance. Please see our main service window to purchase your rentals.

  • Does the Zoo have automatic tellers (ATMs)?
  • An ATM is located inside the Zoo’s entrance.

  • What happens if I lose something in the Zoo?
  • Found personal property is kept in the Zoo’s administrative office for 24 hours, then discarded. We accept no responsibility whatsoever for items left in the Zoo.

  • What happens if it rains or there is a thunderstorm?
  • The Zoo is open rain or shine and the vast majority of our experiences are outdoors. When lightning is within a ten-mile radius, we initiate a weather hold. This ensures the safety of both our animals, who may need to temporarily move off habitat, and our visitors, as certain activities may need to be temporarily closed. Refunds and rain checks are not offered for inclement weather.

  • What should we do if our party is separated?
  • Arrange a meeting place and time should your party become separated. Feel free to approach any staff member or volunteer for assistance. We are unable to make announcements over a loudspeaker.

  • How do I re-enter the Zoo if I have to leave for some reason?
  • Please see a gift store associate for a hand stamp before leaving and present the stamp upon re-entry.

  • Does the Zoo have a dress code?
  • In keeping with our family-friendly atmosphere, and for health and safety reasons, the Zoo strictly enforces a dress code. Proper attire must be worn in the park at all times, including shirts and appropriate footwear except in the water play area of Paws On. Clothing with rude, vulgar or offensive language or graphics is not permitted at any time. Zoo admission may be denied if clothing is deemed by management to be inappropriate.

  • What is the Zoo's alcoholic beverage policy?
  • Alcoholic beverages may not be brought into the Zoo. Alcoholic beverages purchased in the park may not leave the premises. Excessive consumption of alcohol is cause for ejection from the park without refund. No one under 21 years of age is permitted to consume alcoholic beverages, and proper identification is required to purchase and/or consume alcoholic beverages at the Zoo (one drink per customer at one time). Guests are prohibited from taking beer or wine purchased in the park out through the front gate.

  • Are pets permitted in the Zoo?
  • Pets are not permitted in the Zoo, with the exception of service animals. Service animals must be checked in at the front office. Under Florida statute, animals are not to be kept in vehicles unattended.

Pricing & Admission

  • What are the current ticket prices?
  • A variety of ticket packages are available. See Adventures & Packages for information and prices of Zoo packages, activities and other options.

  • What does my general admission ticket include?
  • Your ticket includes admission into the Zoo. Certain experiences, such as animal feedings, kayak tours and train rides, require an additional fee.

  • Does my child need a ticket?
  • Children under three years of age are admitted at no charge. All guests ages three and older require a ticket.

  • Do you offer group discounts?
  • Yes. Groups of 15 or more people are eligible for a general admission discount. Visit the groups page for more information.

  • How much is parking?
  • Parking is always free.

  • Do you sell gift certificates?
  • Gift certificates are not available, but you can purchase tickets and memberships for others through our online store.

  • What forms of payment are accepted?
  • We accept cash as well as Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express cards. Checks are not accepted.

  • Do you offer AAA discounts?
  • We do not offer AAA discounts.

  • Do you offer military discounts?
  • Tickets can be purchased at the Zoo to receive a discount. Reservations will not be required. A $2 surcharge will still apply.

  • Do you offer a travel agent discount?
  • No. However, group rates are available.

  • Do you offer rainchecks?
  • We do not offer refunds or rainchecks for inclement weather.

Online Purchases

  • How do I renew my membership online?
  • Click here. After choosing your selected membership, click the Join Now or Renew Now button. If you are renewing, you will need your Member ID number or your email address to complete the process.

  • Will my membership card be mailed to me?
  • No. We know longer have plastic membership cards. To activate your digital membership card, you will need to download the EMembership App from the Apple App or Google Play stores. Then search for and select Brevard Zoo. Finally, click “Find My Membership Cards” and enter your membership number and last name. If you have any questions, please contact us at amartin@brevardzoo.org.

  • Do tickets have an expiration date?
  • Date-specific tickets are valid only on the specific dates shown. Tickets and memberships without specific dates are valid during the current operating season.

  • What is the refund policy?
  • Tickets, memberships and all vouchers purchased on this site are non-refundable. Please be sure you have selected the correct tickets and the correct number of tickets before completing your purchase. No refunds will be issued once a ticket is purchased. No refunds or rain checks will be issued due to inclement weather. The Zoo is an outdoor facility with little indoor space. Please plan your trip to the Zoo accordingly based on the anticipated weather conditions for that day.

  • What if I made a mistake when ordering items from this site?
  • Before you make your final purchase, carefully review your selections. We do not offer refunds for any tickets purchased online or at the gate. Our tickets are non-transferable. Tickets purchased for park special events are only accepted at the gate for the day of the event.

  • How can I contact customer support?
  • If you wish to speak with a customer support agent, please call 321.254.9453 and press 0. 

Tips for a Great Visit

  • Admission Values
  • The best way to visit the Zoo is often — with a Zoo membership. Available online or at our front gate, get a membership and visit as often as you want for as long as you choose. One-day tickets are also available.

  • Adverse Weather Conditions/Rain
  • The Zoo is open rain or shine, except in the event of a hurricane. Refunds or rainchecks for inclement weather are not offered.

  • Alcoholic Beverage Policy
  • Alcoholic beverages may not be brought onto Zoo property.

  • Attendance/Best Days to Visit
  • The park is less crowded on weekdays, especially Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

  • Automatic Tellers (ATMs)
  • There is one ATM located at the main entrance for your convenience.

  • Credit Cards
  • We accept Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express.

  • Currency Exchange
  • We do not offer a currency exchange.

  • Dress Code
  • In keeping with our family-friendly atmosphere, and for health and safety reasons, Brevard Zoo strictly enforces a dress code. Proper attire must be worn in the park at all times, including shirts and appropriate footwear except in the water play area of Paws On. Clothing with rude, vulgar or offensive language or graphics is not permitted at any time (shirts cannot be turned inside out as a solution). Bathing suits may be worn only in the water park area. Park admission may be denied if clothing is deemed by management to be inappropriate.

  • First Aid
  • We offer first aid at the front office, 321 Nourish and in Paws On. For assistance, ask any staff member.

  • Group Sales
  • Groups of 15 or more people are eligible for a group discount. See Group Rates.

  • Service Animals
  • Pets are not permitted in the park, with the exception of service animals. Service animals must check in at the front office. Under Florida statute, animals cannot be left in vehicles unattended.

  • Recreational Wheels (roller skates, skateboards, etc.)
  • No recreation wheels, including Heelys and other tennis shoe-style roller skates, are permitted in the Zoo.

  • Military Discount
  • Current military and veterans (including any spouse or dependents) will receive $5 off onsite admission to Brevard Zoo.  Proof of military service is required. Accepted methods of identification include a United States Uniformed Services Privilege and Identification Card (active/reserve/retired), current Leave and Earnings Statement, DD 214, veteran ID, uniform or photograph in uniform.

    Please note: you must purchase tickets onsite to receive the discount. 

  • Re-Entering the Park
  • Please see a gift store associate for a hand stamp before leaving and present the stamp upon re-entry.

  • Weapons Policy
  • Firearms and weapons of any kind are not permitted on Zoo grounds.
