“Empowering women to form a wave of change through camaraderie and collective action that protects the environment and promotes a sustainable future.”
Women of the Wild (WOW) is a diverse group of 150 women who gather throughout the year, inspiring and empowering each other to create positive change in our community through collective impact.
Members identify conservation causes that speak to them—like reducing the need for single-use plastics, restoring the Indian River Lagoon, enhancing recycling education or planting wildflowers along highways—and take action through subcommittees. WOW coordinators leverage their connections and resources to help members lead or participate in projects.
We know everyone’s lifestyle is different, and as a WOW member, you decide your level of participation. The entire group meets quarterly, and subcommittees meet as often as they’d like. Opportunities to network and engage in fun conservation activities pop up throughout the year, and you’ll be kept informed of all of them through our monthly email newsletter.
All new members receive an exquisite sterling silver bracelet symbolizing the group’s unity in their mission. Upon each annual renewal, you’ll receive a new charm modeled after native Florida wildlife in need.
A donation of $140 makes you a Woman of the Wild and includes the sterling silver bracelet. If you’d like to make an even bigger impact, a $300 donation includes the bracelet plus a Debbie Brooks handbag with a custom Magnafab. If the bracelet isn’t your style, you may opt to have $40 of this fee donated to a conservation organization of the group’s choosing.
Annual renewal is $100 and includes that year’s charm.
