Jean-Michel Cousteau is a famed French explorer and environmentalist, and the founder of the Ocean Futures Society. Like his father Jacques before him, Jean-Michel has dedicated his life to educating the world about our “water planet” and inspiring action for its protection.
He has produced more than 80 films, which have earned him Emmy, Peabody and CableACE awards. His 2006 documentary Voyage to Kure is credited with inspiring President George W. Bush to establish the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument in Hawaii.

Give from the Heart gives guests an opportunity to support a transformational project. In the past, donated funds have made it possible for the Zoo to build a home for rescued Florida black bears and the Exceptional Nature Space. This year, we are working to raise $100,000 to save an incredible animal from extinction—the Florida grasshopper sparrow. These funds will go toward creating a habitat at the Zoo for these precious birds to safely breed through a collaborative, multi-institutional effort.
DONATE NOW
This year, we are thrilled to offer exclusive Zoo opportunities through our silent and “almost live” auction. From behind-the-scenes experiences to naming a baby animal, there are many once-in-a-lifetime opportunities available. In addition, we have beautiful jewelry, exciting excursions and more!
