Name: Michelin

Species: Green

Date admitted: January 28, 2019

Stranding location: Cape Canaveral

Status: Transferred

Admission notes: This turtle arrived on January 28 from Cape Canaveral. Though there was no obvious indication of stranding, Michelin came in with a heavy barnacle load. Overall, the turtle is in good body condition and we hope to have their blood and fecal results soon!

February 27, 2019: This morning, Michelin and four other turtles were transferred to Gumbo Limbo Nature Center at the request of Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. With this turtle being cared for at another facility, we will have more room to take in other critical patients.

February 21, 2019: This turtle is still on medications, but we are hopeful the next blood draw will show a healthy enough status to take them off.

February 13, 2019: Michelin has been living up to their namesake and continues to be a great little eater!

February 6, 2019: Michelin is eating and utilizing their enrichment devices well. We were recently able to clean off the majority of barnacles on their carpace, and those areas of the carapace are healing well.
