Status: Released

Admission notes: This turtle appeared lethargic and covered in epibiota upon intake. Kona is currently presenting with some buoyancy issues and is only eating algae.

 

UPDATES

July 10, 2019: Kona went home yesterday! This turtle was released at Bonsteel Park in Melbourne Beach. Good luck, Kona!

July 5, 2019: Kona is going home next week! On Tuesday, July 9, this turtle will be released at Bonsteel Park at 4 p.m. We want to have a big release for this little turtle, so tell your friends and family!

June 21, 2019: This turtle is doing great and will have (hopefully) their final workup next week!

June 13, 2019: Kona came off their medications!

June 7, 2019: Kona came out for their monthly workup this week and their bloodwork looks awesome. Hopefully, they will be able to come off of their medications soon.

May 24, 2019: This turtle is all about their food. Kona eats their diets as quickly as our volunteers feed them!

May 17, 2019: Kona continues to eat great and spends a lot of time trying to steal Garbanzo’s food through the barrier!

May 9, 2019: Kona came out for their first workup since intake and this turtle looks awesome!

April 24, 2019: Kona comes out for their checkup next week. This turtle eats like a champ and does not leave a scrap left in their pool. Kona is responding to treatment very well after being burdened with epibiota.
