Admission notes: Kernel arrived on January 19 with a hook in their esophagus. Fortunately, vet staff was able to remove the hook and this turtle is on the road to recovery.

 

UPDATES

April 12, 2019: Kernel’s carapace is slowly healing.

April 4, 2019: Kernel began regular laser therapy for their abnormal shell sluffing.

March 28, 2019: Kernel started having some abnormal shell sluffing, so we will be waiting for that to heal up before release.

March 21, 2019: This turtle (hopefully) had their last blood check today before release!

March 13, 2019: This turtle is off their medications and is almost ready to be released!

February 21, 2019: Kernel had their stitches from the hook removal surgery taken out! This turtle healed up very well and continues to thrive.

February 13, 2019: With a few new additions this week, Kernel was moved into Dale’s tank with a divider between them. This turtle’s incision site from hook removal is healing well and Kernel continues to be an excellent patient!

February 6, 2019: Kernel continues to heal nicely and eat well. This turtle will be moving to a larger tank soon!

January 29, 2019: Kernel is eating well and healing nicely. This turtle’s recent fecal exam came back with no parasites, yay!
