Admission notes: This medium-sized juvenile green sea turtle came to us on January 22 from Vero Beach. They were found entangled in fishing line and covered in long algae—resembling a sea monster more than a sea turtle! Cholula cleaned up very well though, showing off a beautiful starburst carapace after the algae was removed. This sea turtle has many FP tumors, including some small ones on the eyes. Their entanglement has caused decreased blood flow to the front flippers as well as inflammation. We used leeches to help blood flow come back to those areas and have also been conducting daily flipper massages. Cholula has a great spirit and eats well. They also like to spend time watching their roommate, Cameron.
