To request a field trip reservation and program please complete the form on the link below. This form is a REQUEST ONLY for your reservation. Once confirmed you will receive an email with a confirmation letter from the Brevard Zoo Education Registrar. All requests must be made more than 2 weeks prior to the date(s) requested. Reservations require a minimum of 15 people.
FIELD TRIP AND PROGRAM REQUESTA letter of confirmation with all the details of the booked program will be mailed after registration. You must retain a copy of the letter for your records and present it upon arrival at the Zoo to facilitate the group’s admission. If there will be more than one class visiting the Zoo, please be sure to distribute confirmation information to all teachers.
Due to the popularity of our programs, we may not be able to accommodate your group upon late arrival. Please make every effort to call the Zoo at 321.254.9453 x489 if your group will be late. We do our best to accommodate late arrivals, but reserve the right to cancel or adjust program length depending on staff availability.
Learning comes easy when children’s imaginations are sparked by a Zoo visit. Enhance their experience with one of our educational programs, which can include animal encounters, content that meets teachers’ specific needs and curricula aligned with The K-12 Florida Standards. Brevard Zoo offers distinct and unique wildlife habitats for your class to discover. Zoo scavenger hunts available upon request.
All programs listed below are conducted at the Zoo. Based on your group size, we have classroom and our education theater spaces to conduct programs. Our classroom can hold up to 35 and our education theater can hold up to 70 at one time.
Habitats for Survival (Grades 1-2), 45-Minutes, can accommodate 35-70 people at one time.
Home sweet home! All animals – including humans – need a safe place to live. Through exploration and observation, students will discover the things that make each habitat the perfect home for its residents.
Amazing Adaptations (Grades 2+), 45-Minutes, can accommodate 35-70 people at one time.
Is it survival of the fittest or just a quirk of nature? Students will discover the adaptations needed to escape hungry predators, become ultimate hunters or survive and thrive in the harshest climates.
Classroom Program Only
Wiggly Wonders (Grades PreK-K), 30-Minutes
Can you swim like a fish or slither like a snake? Students explore animal movements as they hop, crawl and wiggle their way through this fun, hands-on animal experience.
Nature Space Program Only (accommodates up to 25 people per time)
Muddy Buddies (Grades PreK-2), One Hour
Get down and dirty with this sensory-rich program. Come learn about animals that live in and around mud while exploring and discovering nature using the senses. Students will have the opportunity to play in the mud kitchen, create mud tracks, paint with mud, and dig in the dirt. Closed toed shoes required.
Expeditions (accommodates up to 20 people per time)
Food Chain Expedition (Grades 3-8): One Hour Tour
It’s the circle of life! As they explore one of the Zoo’s loops, students will discover how the energy of the Sun makes its way through the food chain to power the lives of the plants and animals living there.
Sensory Safari Expedition (Grades K-2) 45-Minute Tour
Using (almost) all your senses, your students will be immersed in different areas of the world and see how animals both survive and thrive. Being able to see, hear, touch, and smell will allow your students to experience what makes an animal’s life different and similar to our own.
Classification Expedition (Grades 3-6) One Hour Tour
Scientists learn in many different ways, one of the most important is observing the natural world. Animals continue to amaze our smartest minds! By observing what they do, science can make tremendous strides in understanding these incredible creatures. Here, students will step into the shoes of scientists and learn how they classify animals based on their characteristics and behaviors.
Career Expedition (Grades 7+), One Hour Tour
Working in and around the Zoo can be a very rewarding experience. From our Animal Care professionals to our Horticulture team, they play an important role to ensure the overall wellbeing of the animals in our care and in their native habitat. Every job has a purpose, and every purpose is important. Your students will learn what their lives can look like if they choose to pursue one of these incredible fields.
