2018 TRAINING SESSIONS
MARCH 9, 2018 | 6 to 9 PM
In May, we unveiled a new kind of natural play area designed to meet the unique needs of children with varying exceptionalities and their families. The Exceptional Nature Space is a modified natural habitat that is both safe and stimulating. It is designed to be flexible so that it can be easily reset and reprogrammed to best serve children with different challenges. Within this carefully defined space, kids will be free to explore an authentic Florida habitat, engage in open-ended nature play, experiment, socialize with other children and learn by doing. Because this is one of the first settings of its kind, we consider it a living laboratory where we can also learn how to best serve this audience through on-going observations and feedback from the parents and the children themselves. Members are an important part of our programming, so we encourage you to contact our coordinator Lindsay Mathisen at email@example.com with questions.

Bring your family out for a nature walk on the Zoo’s Linear Trail! If your family has never visited the Zoo’s Linear Trail this is the perfect family morning or evening stroll to get out and see what you might discover! The 10-foot wide boardwalk forged from recycled-plastic planks winds through the wetlands and oak hammocks on a 1.1-mile route. The trail is located at the end of the road, just past the Zoo’s main parking lots and is open during regular Zoo hours.
We reserve the right to combine or cancel education programs due
